start of a new school year
Hello, everyone! I hope you had a nice summer.
Fall has arrived. I love the cooler weather and the changing colour of the leaves.
In my home country of Canada, the fall means the start of a new school year.
Like Japan, Canada has two semesters, but the first semester is from September to December and the second semester is from January to April. Then, there is a long summer vacation. Most students get summer jobs to help pay for their university tuition and books. My first job was at a supermarket!
I loved being a university student. It is one of the reasons I became a university teacher.
Here is a picture of me from my university days. In the picture I am wearing my university jacket and holding a video of a Shakespeare play. My major was English literature.

みなさん、こんにちは！楽しい夏を過ごされたでしょうか？
秋がやってきました。涼しい気候と葉の色の変化が大好きです。
私の母国カナダでは、秋といえば新学期が始まることを意味します。
カナダは日本と同じように２学期制ですが、１学期は９月から１２月まで、２学期は１月から４月までとなっています。そして、長い夏休みがあります。ほとんどの学生は、大学の学費や学費を賄うために、夏の仕事に就きます。私の最初の仕事はスーパーでのアルバイトでした。
大学生であることが大好きでした。それが大学の先生になった理由の一つです。
大学時代の写真です。大学の上着を着て、シェイクスピアの劇のビデオを持っています。私の専攻は英文学でした。
