6月18日（月）から25日（月）の8日間、交流協定締結校のアメリカ・サミュエルメリット大学（SMU）看護学部より、研修生10名と教員3名が本学へ来学しました。

10 nursing students and 3 faculty members participated in the study visit from Samuel Merritt University (SMU) in the United States from Monday, June 18 to Monday, June 25.

本学看護学部教員による講義・演習や病院・施設の訪問を通して、日本の看護制度や文化を学び、アメリカに持ち帰りたい発見がたくさんあった様子でした。

SMU students learned about nursing and culture in Japan and had many different eye-opening experiences that they would like to bring back to the U.S. through participation in lectures and activities done by SCU faculty and visit to hospitals and facilities.

学内演習の一つとして、本学の4年次生と共に沐浴演習を行いました。新生児の目の周りの拭き方がアメリカと異なり驚いていましたが、理由を知ると「なるほど！私もこれからは日本のやり方の真似をする！」と納得していました。

They had bathing exercise for newborns with some 4th year nursing students of SCU. The way Japanese nurses wipe around eyes of the newborns was different from that of the U.S., so the students were very surprised. However, when they heard the reason why, many of them said "Yeah, I am going to do the Japanese way from now on!."

また、本学の3年次生と共にエンゼルケア演習も行いました。亡くなった後も患者さんを思う日本の看護の心に感動している様子でした。

Also, they practiced angel care with some 3rd year nursing students of SCU. SMU students were impressed with how nurses provide care for patients even after they pass away and the thoughtfulness of nursing in Japan.

本学学生・教員宅でのホームステイ体験、交流会、市内見学など学生・教員同士の交流も盛んに行われました。言語の壁を忘れるほど楽しく交流し、特に3月にアメリカ国際看護研修でSMUを訪問した学生たちは日本での再会を喜んでいました。

The students and faculty members of SCU and SMU did a lot together, including homestay, exchange party and tour of Hamamatsu city. They all enjoyed a lot together that they forgot about the language barrier SCU students were worried about before the arrival of SMU group.

本学の学生はSMUの学生から「チャレンジすることの大切さを教えてもらった」と、SMUの学生は本学の学生から「おもてなしの心を教えてもらった」と話していました。異国の医療を学ぶだけでなく、同じ専門職を目指す学生同士がお互いの良いところを吸収し合えるのも海外研修の魅力の一つだと思います。

SCU students learned from SMU students how important it is to try SMU students learned from SCU students the true heart of hospitality (in Japanese, "O-MO-TE-NA-SHI"). We believe that these kinds of learning experiences from each other are meaningful part of overseas study visit, in addition to learning about healthcare and welfare in foreign countries.

本学では、学生の皆さんに海外文化への興味・関心を起こしてもらい、海外研修などの
国際交流活動へ参加を促すことを主な目的として、国際交流イベントを開催しています。

今年度第1回は、7月10日（火）にリハビリテーション学部の顧先生を講師としてお招きし、
本場中国の餃子作りが体験できる「中国文化体験」を開催しました。

また、リハビリテーション科学研究科のヤン・ホンさん（中国人留学生）、2016年度に
海外研修（中国）に参加した学生3名や引率者の渥美先生より、中国や研修の魅力に
ついて紹介してもらいました。

研修に参加する8名の看護学部2年次生は、2017年11月から国際的な視野を深めたり、
日米の保健医療制度を学んだりするため事前研修に参加しています。

「中国の皆さんはとても暖かく迎え入れてくださった」、「（個人旅行ではあまり選ばない）
中国だからこそ、大学の研修で参加しようと思った」、「写真撮影が禁止されている場所
が多いから、実際に行って中国を見てきてほしい」など、研修参加者や引率者の生の声
を届けてくれました。

次回の国際交流イベントは10月上旬を予定しています。国際交流イベントは、異文化に
ついて学べるだけでなく、普段は関わりが少ない他学部・他学年の学生や教員とも交流
ができる機会です。皆さん、是非ご参加ください！

※2018年度秋セメスターに予定している海外研修の日程・応募方法・奨学金などについ

5月27日（日）から6月1日（金）の6日間、交流協定締結校のシンガポール工科大学より、研修生25名（ヘルスソーシャルサイエンス学部理学療法学科生15名、作業療法学科生10名）と教職員2名が本学を拠点として日本の保健医療福祉について学びました。

25 students (15 physical therapy and 10 occupational therapy students) and 2 faculty members participated in the study visit from Singapore Institute of Technology from Sunday, May 27 to Friday, June 1.

期間中は、聖隷関連施設訪問のほか、本学の学生との合同ワークショップや学生フォーラムなどを行い同じ専門職を目指す学生同士の交流ができました。

During their stay in Hamamatsu, they visited many facilities of Seirei group as well as workshop and forum with SCU students who would be professionals in the same fields.

本学の学生と一緒に市内見学にも出かけました！

SCU and SIT students also took a Hamamatsu city tour and shopping together!

研修の最終日には、SITの学生が日本での学びや気づきについて参加者全員で発表しあい、両校の学生や教職員にとっても学びの多い研修となりました！

At the end of the program, SIT students shared what they have learnt and realized during the stay in Japan.  It was a wonderful opportunity for both SIT and SCU students and faculty to understand different culture and professionals.  Thank you all for coming!!
